ISSUES
- Create Policies to Promote Job Creation
Our current Supervisors have failed us. Instead of enacting policies to create jobs or making sure San Diego got its fair share of stimulus funding, they have done nothing to help our communities. We must do everything in our power to get people back to work including taking advantage of state and federal programs that could bring millions to San Diego, and embracing a Green Economy that will protect our environment and create thousands of jobs.
- End The $100 million Taxpayer Funded Slush Fund
Our tax dollars should be allocated through a transparent budget process, not doled out by individual supervisors to curry political favors.
- Meet Our Responsibility to Provide Social Services
Treat all people with dignity. End the fingerprinting and photographing of the elderly and disabled who receive in-home supportive services.
-
Protect Our Families and Finally Create a County Fire Department
The brownouts of San Diego fire houses have been devastating. We can and must make sure our families are kept safe. The county should have a fire department like other counties do, saving lives and homes. - Establish a No-Gifts Policy For All Supervisors
Elected officials should not accept lavish gifts, kickbacks, and junkets for funding organizations with our tax dollars.
- Land Use Decisions that Protect Our Future
New development and infrastructure should be environmentally responsible and create jobs that benefit our local economy.
